LUCAS FURATORI MARANZATO

Gameplay
Meet me Outside is an arcade game made by my university group "Octoblind" (me and 4 colleagues) in 2019 second half, inspired on Gauntlet (1985).
It is a top-down shooter with a horror backstory that takes place in an italian asylum. The protagonist, Arlo Faranzza, begins hallucinate with his dead mother, and tries to escape with a stolen syringe gun, before he loses all his sanity.
The game starts with a rotoscopy animation to introduce the narrative, where we recorded ourselves to do so.

My function here was to fill it with music and tense sounds, to make the whole thing look a little scary and mysterious.
(In this case, I also played the role of the doctor with glasses)
All the items and characters was animated in 32x32 pixels, to look like the old arcade games

Arlo Faranzza
The protagonist
Also, the game has top-down perspective,
so I animated every character in 8 positions like this:

The enemies at the beginning are relatively normal...

The Pacient

The Nurse

The Doctor
...but the more Arlo loses his sanity...

...the more the enemies turn into monsters.

Luckily, he can find some items to help him survive a little bit more in this infinite asylum

Gives 100 sanity points
Gives 50 sanity points
Gives 50 light points
Kill all enemies in the screen
Gives 100 score points
